I recently made this custom-made full-length mesh dress as a commission piece for a client. This material was a bit challenging to work with but really love that drapes beautifully over the body. The delicate mesh material also adds a touch of ethereal beauty to the dress, while the crystal embellishments throughout the gown adds a bit of glamorous, eye-catching sparkle. To ensure a flawless fit, I built in a foundation that provides the necessary support and shape to the wearer's silhouette. This foundation is seamlessly integrated into the design of the dress, providing a comfortable and secure fit that allows my client to move and dance with ease. It looks simple, but took six full days to create, a good part of which included removing stones to sew seam allowance and then heat setting them back on in all of the spots that had gaps. I love challenging custom builds. For information on custom made garments please go HERE

A fun job in between jobs this past month. In general I do not make Halloween costumes for anyone but when I was asked to pattern and sew costumes for Pink and her daughter obviously I said yes. The opportunity to work with stylist Kim Bowen who has an incredible deep fashion history of epic proportion was just incredible.
Also Alecia and Willow were a dream to create for, honestly this could not have been a funner project to sew. I really appreciated this experience and the multitude of hand sewing hours turned out pretty lovely I think.
I thought I would share few process images and final PC images.
Thank you Alecia, Willow,Kim Bowen and Jenny Beavan for epic costume inspiration.
I made a custom color way sequin cat hat for talented Kalie @cosmic.romantics . I love her soft vintage creative photography and styling. Please visit her instagram to be dazzled and inspired by her creative mind.
During this crazy time like everyone else I have had to figure out a few new ways to deal with life. I certainly feel lucky not having to mentally adjust too far out of my comfort zone, being Im an artist who works alone and hardly sees anyone during most of the day already. In fact my main social activities mainly involved going to class. For anyone who does not know Ive been working on my tailoring certification for the better part of three years and am at the tail end of that educational goal.
Now my classes are online, so kind of still social.
The moment the world shut down I started sewing masks, It's a skill set I possess and figured I could use it for the powers of PPE. I've been making fashion masks for sale on my site which… Thank you everyone who has supported me by purchasing one of my masks, you have helped me financially survive and also to provide my services at my cost to some of the people that make the world go round all the time not just in this time.
I've made about 2k + for services workers/ essential workers including some very special ones for the second city of my heart San Francisco. SFFD & SFPD both departments I have some of the people I hold most dear working there. Combined Im almost at 400pc for them.
Also my local LAFD station #9 DTLA and central division DTLA I did a small production and dropped of with my thanks for their service in my neighborhood.
As well as several medical centers in any out of state and donations to people like Sidewalk project , Officer Deon Joseph for our local unhoused community.
All of this while taking my classes online four days a week trying to keep up with homework, sewing and cutting orders, and non stop cutting and sewing masks. I feel exhausted, I've had all kinds of emotions. Mostly I just feel grateful to be healthy, productive and able to continue to keep my mind busy and keep working.
I would like to thank everyone who’s ordered apparel and had to wait for me to sew because of having to prioritize masks first.
Our first responders, I appreciate you everyday and could not do the jobs you do.Everyone else out there that have been showing grace and kindness in this emotional hard time I salute you.
I am so very appreciative and feel like I can’t even begin to express how much in words.
Lots of love to everyone.
Forever and always yours,
]]>Being and artist and full time student I am very used to being socially isolated, going to class was the most social interaction I had during the week. For those of you who are not hermits I'm sure this isolation is very difficult for you, if you feel like writing letters or just need a card in your mailbox please send me your address and I will write to you. Contact me Or message me on any of my social media accounts.
I'm extremely grateful to be able to have access to my studio building, I have limited hours now which is restricting but I'll take whatever I can.
SInce I only have seven hours as apposed to the 14 or so I normally work , I will be answering emails before or after I go to work. If anyone needs me during the hours of 9am-4pm please call my studio 213-489-1066.
For the next few weeks I feel like ill mostly be sewing face masks for orders and for hero workers out there. I appreciate your support, everytime you buy a mask or anything else from me I can make them for USPS,Service workers and medical workers.
I love you all. Stay safe, Stay well.
With love always,

New Skull Pullovers-
This is my current favorite thing I've made so far this month and I've sewn and printed a small run available for immediate shipping.Front graphic is also one my new favorites updated skull graphic I recently drew along with my name :) and where I am.
]]>I've been working on this pattern for a few weeks it's simple but needed several adjustments before I felt like it was finished and ready for final samples and printing. I LOVE pullovers esp off the shoulder ones well in this case 'can be slightly off the shoulder ', I also love long sleeves, well over the wrist to the top of the hand and slightly longer body length because I just don't want to be cold if I have to pick something up. Its cold even in Los Angeles and 'Im very into sweatshirt pattern making and sampling mode.

In my never ending project of adding content to galleries I can across this gem of a set. For anyone who was on MySpace or paying attention to underground pop culture in the Early 2000's you would know what trashylife is, AKA Zui Watts & Audrey Kitching. It must have been somewhere around 2005 when we did this shoot. I had sort of recently met photographer Michelle X Star and had been friends with these ladies on MySpace for a while. They happened to be coming out to Los Angeles and we shot these in my second ever studio DTLA which was a 500 sq ft two connecting room office on E 9th st, my first studio was directly upstairs in a 200 sq ft office in the same building. This was the first day I met them both in person. I want to say that because of these women and countless other amazing models, Makeup Artists, hair Stylist, general support of fans and clients I am able to continue to make fashion and be an artist for which I cannot even begin to articulate how grateful I am. Also to my dear friend Michelle who created so many beautiful images using my fashion. I really do appreciate these things on a daily basis. Thank you everyone, I love you so much!!!! Seeing these also makes me miss the days of organic marketing on social media, it truly was an underappreciated golden goose.Stay tuned for updates. Please contact me with any questions or special order requests.

Last August I started a freelance project/ collaboration with Kat Von D creating special team jackets for her pro makeup ladies.
I love creative challenging projects. This project was both. From sketch, patterning sampling, pattern adjusting, resampling, finding the right materials, sourcing the two amazing people who I found to do embroideries, ect.
Fronts are all hand chain stitched names by Ben at http://chainstitcher.com/ who can do big and creative artistic work not just mere names. He did a beautiful job, was so fast and very professional. Please visit him for all your chain stitching needs.
The backs were a bit of work, Kat hand drew illustration and then we had digitized after she decided on exact color ways, the sampling took a little time to get colors right but the end result was perfect. With any embroidery the way they do the digitizing is what makes your product come out looking flawless. Each back piece took six hours to complete.
Inside Labels were hand drawn by Kat then I converted to a vector file, had a screen made and hand screened them in house.
The cuffs and waistbands were locally made, all sourcing and production I always do in my local area of DTLA and surrounding area.
Outers are heavy weight black satin, liners are bright red lighter weight satin, inside liner has a special pocket for one everlasting lipstick which was Kats brilliant idea.
I am so happy with how this project came out and so grateful to Kat for trusting me to make it happen. For all of you that support her and her brand I want to say you are supporting a woman who is exactly who she represents herself to be.
She is genuine kind and thoughtful. In a world of social media where people often portray the facade of a ghost of what they wish they could be, Kat is a hard working all around lovely person. So, Im glad you support her, and her makeup line is a really great high quality product line as well.
More Images on my IG www.instagram.com/jlbeaverton and elsewhere on IG probably too.
Please do not ask me to make one of these Jackets for you. This was a special project only for Kat Von D beauty team members, so please do not contact me asking for these jackets.
If Kat decides to make something similar available for her fans Im sure you guys will know about it. :) xo

]]>Don't grab My Pussy
I made these tees for myself and friends for the women's march, but thought I would add them here as well for anyone else who might want one. I do have mens tees available in white for anyone interested.
50% of proceeds of this shirt will be donated to Planned Parenthood. I support womens health 100%.
For anyone who disagrees with me that is totally fine, we cannot all share the same value systems and opinions. I respect your choices, causes and beliefs. I ask that you please respect mine.
I try not to get political when it comes to my business but I will take a stand for issues I believe in no matter the consequence. I love and respect all my sisters, and I welcome any discourse. I think we all need to speak to each other and understand each other, especially when it comes to difference of opinion.
I have many friends on both sides of the party lines and that will not be changing.
Lots of love and affection.
]]>Hope everyone had a wonderful start of the new year. Ill be back to my old self and adding new products this month.
Thanks so much. Lots of Love.
